One of the main goals of this type of education is to put the students into the labor market after finishing their studies. They must spend a 380 hours period in a work place to get their title, which is known as FCT. The students stay in a company and they have to develop tasks related to their studies. In addition they are supervised by a tutor along with a teacher of the technical school.
The San Vicente Secondary School has taken part in several European programs granted by Socrates Agency, such as Lingua Program: "THE MEDITERRANEAN DIET: REFLECTION OF A CULTURE " participating jointly with the Welling School of Welling (Kent), United Kingdom.
The Eramus University Charter would allow us:
- To motivate our students in the development of their work in the European Union.
- To improve the competitiveness and creativity of the students looking for a new a job.
- To give an added value and quality in education on the part of our institution.
- To create a knowledge base with all the experiences.
- To learn languages of the countries where the practices take place.
- To promote teachers exchange all over the European countries.
In addition, we will be allowed to keep in contact with the labor market of the countries where the phase of practices takes place. It would help us to improve our ways of searching for companies for this module.
Some activities to give publicity and visibility to the Erasmus activities are:
- To create a department or specific Erasmus area.
- To promote chats, discussions and varied activities in the school.
- News will be published in the school's newspaper and in brochure.
- Promotion of the news in the site www.iessanvicente.com .

In order to get involved in non-discrimination criteria , we support social cohesion, active citizenry, socioeconomic cohesion against the xenophobia and racism. This has been developed through the different cross-curricular contents in the curricula and the tutorial adequations. The accomplishment of these practices by our students will create a European citizenry feeling, based on mutual understanding, human rights respect and tolerance to other countries and cultures.
The students who are taking part on the Erasmus program will be informed about the different curricula existing in the EU countries, and then will get the FCT module credits as a result of all this project. They are given the information both in English and French, so that they will be able to manage this kind of information in the future.
Information and advise about locations are given to all our students who are in the program. At that point, they are informed about different kinds of accommodation and cultural information about places to stay , so that they are capable of choosing according to their preferences, otherwise, the outgoing students will not make a choice on their own, tutors advice is given with that purpose.
The incoming students will be welcomed with activities. They would be lodged near the school. The school is well located in the village of San Vicente, near University: this fact helps a lot in terms of accommodation. It is well connected to the city of Alicante by bus or train, and to the airport too.
Those activities are focused on the integration of the students in all areas of our society. The website can be a good tool for exchanging information between the incoming students and the staff involved in the Erasmus program. Course management systems are used to create online learning communities, we have moodle? system to improve and develop it. News and schedules will be performed to maintain the information of all the activities.
Some teachers will keep contact with the students. In addition, cultural activities will be promoted in our school, so that our resident students take part in that program, and profit the experience of incoming students in those terms.
The following measures are to carry out:
- Give appropriate linguistic formation for each one of the programs
- Select and establish contact with the foreign companies that offer high quality in that phase of practices. Specially, in sectors that have direct implication with the subjects of the area in which the students have been trained.
- To promote the use of IT in all the processes that entail the accomplishment of the phase of practices.
- To give tutors and students enough tools to have a suitable communication between them, according to the distance.
- To give formation, both to the students and to the teachers in IT tools, so that they would manage the systems in a good condition.
- Some trip of the coordination team?could be made in order to train all the staff related to the program. Some companies already contacted, can be visited as well.
- The stay will be recognized as part of the curricula, when it is developed according to the specified requirements.
